Lovingly created using professional frostproof stoneware clay, each boat is individually hand-built using coil and slab techniques with layered textured pieces of clay to create depth, movement and tactile detail. The softly weathered surface is enhanced with hand-painted stains, underglazes and subtle oxide washes, bringing out the rich ocean blues, sandy tones and intricate textures reminiscent of the shoreline.
Finished with mixed-media rope detailing, this unique ceramic boat has a wonderfully rustic coastal feel, evoking memories of harbours, fishing villages and life by the sea. No two pieces are ever exactly alike, making each boat a truly individual work of art.
