Adopt a Potter Scheme


Supporting the development of a National Ceramics School


Adopt a Potter is working towards setting up a ceramics school that will teach a comprehensive skills-based curriculum in the UK. alongside evening classes, masterclasses, and lectures for the public, the school will run a two-year full-time course for 12 students, with each year consisting of three 15-week terms. The emphasis will be on core skills and the use of materials and students will be taught all aspects of design, throwing, glazing, kiln building and firing, alongside traditional hand building and decoration techniques.


I hope you will join me on my quest to support this scheme. Over the next few months we will be holding small wine tasting events with the accredited wine taster Dimple A……. If you would like to join our small groups for a very informative session you will find Dimple and her wines a very nice way to support Adopt A Potter. Tickets start at £10 eac. Whisky, gin and port tasting ranges from £20 to £25 a ticket and. You are welcome to donate more!


The fun filled evening around the stable studios or cottage log fire for evening sessions should be interesting and you will love the stories Dimple has to tell about her wines. There will be no obligation to buy any wines this is purely an opportunity to to join us for an intimate evening with group sizes limited to between 6 and 10 invitees only.

Fancy learning how to make silver jewellery?

Using modern jewellery making techniques and revolutionary materials we are able to create unique pieces of wonderfully wearable contemporary and personalised fine silver jewellery


Enjoy a morning taster session in the CLAYNGLAZE POTTERY STUDIO learning all about Precious Metal Clay and trying your hand at the craft.


  • The science behind Precious Metal Clay (PMC)
  • How to roll PMC to a consistent thickness
  • Using textures to pattern the clay
  • Cutting the clay using cutters
  • Making holes in the clay
  • Refining dry PMC
  • Hand firing PMC
  • Polishing PMC

We'll also learn all about mould making with silicone moulding compound and how to use your moulds to produce silver jewels. At the end of the morning you will leave with at least one finished piece of silver jewellery, enough PMC to make another piece of jewellery at home and at least one silicone mould.


The three+ hours taster course includes 5.6g of PMC Flex, two sterling silver jump rings, silicone moulding compound and refreshments.




Making jewellery and seeing the delight on my customer's faces when they see their finished piece is what inspires me and keeps me smiling.
